Purple Star School

Legacy Traditional School – Cadence is proudly designated as a “Purple Star School” with the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC). MCEC Purple Star Schools specialize in supporting military-connected children as they relocate to new schools due to a parent’s change in duty station.

We support military-connected children and families by:

  • introducing Military Welcome Ambassador Team that helps introduce new military families and supports existing families
  • providing links to events that highlight activities featuring military students, families and veterans
  • designating a resource board for students and military families with postings of community/school events, special interest activities that highlight and support military families
  • hosting the April Military Awareness Month, and celebrating our Military families through a series of school-wide events
  • hosting a military family breakfast at our annual Veterans Days celebration
  • facilitating regular support groups for students of active military parents/guardian
  • providing priority status in the school’s enrollment process for children of active-duty families
